What will the jobs of the future be? The project by the cybersecurity company Itway, dedicated to the scientific high school students in Ravenna.
What will be the most in-demand professions in Italy in the coming years, and what skills will be needed? This was the theme of the meeting held on February 29 at the Oriani scientific high school in Ravenna, where fifth-year students met with executives from Itway, a multinational company founded in Ravenna that focuses on designing, producing, and distributing technologies in sectors such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and big data.
The meeting at the scientific high school marks the beginning of Itway’s commitment to collaborating with high schools that focus on STEM—an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—where the group has offices in Italy.
The high school students attended a presentation by Andrea Farina, founder and president of Itway, which outlined some scenarios based on the 2023 report on future jobs developed by the World Economic Forum. Following this, Angelo Salice, manager for cybersecurity and resiliency, encouraged the students to specialize in cybersecurity “to make this world a safer place.”
This first training project was shared with the teachers from the scientific high school and the state technical industrial institute Baldini in Ravenna.
The next steps will include a presentation by Marco Nanni, an engineer from the Icoy team, which focuses on artificial intelligence for workplace safety. Following that, there will be a discussion on data science and data management with Irene Buso, who will explain what it means to manage vast digitized archives of cultural assets. One of the solutions developed by Itway counts among its clients 30 percent of the top 20 universities worldwide, with four of these ranking among the top 10: Cambridge (2), Harvard (4), Imperial College London (6), and National University of Singapore (8).
