Happy birthday Itway
July 8, 2024Mongol Rally: Ravenna-Oskemen in 42 days
August 30, 2024We are proud to support the initiative of three childhood friends, Antonio Capone, Massimiliano Farina, and Luca Senni, who have decided to undertake an epic journey in a 2003 compact car. This extraordinary trip, lasting 45 days, will retrace the Silk Road, crossing 16 countries in Eastern Europe and Asia, with a noble goal: to raise funds for two important local charities in Ravenna.
Our commitment to supporting this adventure stems from a desire to actively contribute to the well-being of the community. The Mongol Rally is not just a journey but a charitable mission that involves our three adventurers in raising a minimum of €1,000 to donate to the Alzheimer Unit of the Rosa dei Venti consortium, which specializes in managing people affected by dementia. An additional minimum amount of €1,000 will be allocated to AIRETT, an association that promotes and implements awareness projects related to Rett syndrome, a genetic neurological developmental disorder that affects almost exclusively girls. Additionally, a fixed sum of £500 will be donated to Cool Earth, an organization dedicated to protecting rainforests and indigenous peoples.
The adventure began on July 12 in Ravenna, with the goal of reaching distant Kazakhstan by August 31. The first mandatory stop was Prague, from where the true adventure without rules began. “There is no recommended itinerary,” explains Senni, “the organizers invite us not to plan routes and to get lost on roads to discover. The philosophy is that of adventure lived day by day. We’ve studied a minimum route, but let’s say that the only certainty is that there will be surprises.”
The next planned stop is Baku, Azerbaijan, by July 25, reachable by flight from Tbilisi, Georgia. From Baku, they will take a ferry across the Caspian Sea to reach Turkmenistan. For this final leg, they had to overcome various logistical challenges, including obtaining an official invitation to enter Turkmenistan. They explained the reasons for their crossing and obtained official permission, thus enriching their travel diary with unique anecdotes.
At Itway, we firmly believe in the value of initiatives aimed at improving society and supporting local causes. This adventure not only highlights the determination and resourcefulness of Antonio, Massimiliano, and Luca but also reflects our commitment to promoting the well-being of our communities. We are proud to contribute to these important causes and inspire others to do the same, demonstrating how businesses can use their social impact to make a difference.
