The legality rating is a synthetic indicator of the compliance with high legal standards by companies.

This recognition takes the form of a score ranging from a minimum of one to a maximum of three “stars.”

The requesting company obtains the base score ★ if it meets all the requirements outlined in Article 2 of the Implementing Regulation on the Legality Rating. The base score can be increased by a “+” for each additional requirement that the company meets from those set out in Article 3 of the Regulation. Achieving three “+” results in the awarding of an additional star, up to a maximum score of ★★★.

The legality rating is a tool introduced in 2012 for Italian companies, aimed at promoting and implementing ethical behavior principles within the business sector, through the assignment of a “recognition” – measured in “stars” – indicative of the company’s respect for legality and, more generally, the level of attention paid to the correct management of its business. The attribution of the rating is linked to advantages in the granting of public funding and incentives for access to bank credit.

On December 21, 2021, Itway requested the attribution of the Legality Rating from the Competition and Market Authority.

The Authority has decided to assign ITWAY S.P.A. a Legality Rating with the following score: ★★+. This certification expired on 02/03/2024, and the renewal procedures for the certification are currently underway.
