March 31, 2023Best IT projects of the year
May 5, 2023ITALIAN PROJECT AWARDS
Itway Group is very proud to announce that it has won two awards at the Italian Project Awards 2022, an editorial initiative created by the Editorial Group G11 Media. The winning projects were examined and evaluated in two main stages: an initial assessment carried out by the editorial teams of ChannelCity and ImpresaCity, followed by a second evaluation with the participation of the Quality Jury, made up of academics, market analysts, and corporate innovation managers. The Italian Project Awards recognize the best projects across various aspects and market segments, identifying four award categories:
– The most INNOVATIVE project
– The best project in terms of SUSTAINABILITY
– The best project for PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
– The best project for COMPANIES
Itway S.p.A. won in two out of the four categories: the most innovative project and the best project for companies.
These victories were achieved thanks to the new ICOY® solution (I Care Of You), an innovative system designed to save lives and reduce workplace accidents, using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence developed by the Itway team. This AI employs an object detection algorithm capable of recognizing objects through a single convolutional neural network. The ICOY® AI is continuously improving because it uses Deep Learning for analysis, enabling it to automatically define a series of characteristics used to classify the content of an image and proceed with self-learning. In this way, the analysis can constantly improve as the number of images analyzed increases and is not affected by the movement of objects.
ICOY® also came to life thanks to a specific request from the Marcegaglia Group. It was essential to immediately notify operators working at the Port of Ravenna using forklifts, bulldozers, mechanical shovels, and handling bridge cranes of the entry of people into a predefined danger zone. The innovative solution required more than three years of research and testing and overcame the objective limitations of technologies used up to now, such as motion detection applications and systems based on Infrared, Bluetooth, or Radio Frequency. It has been patented by Itway (No. 102020000016051).
The award ceremony took place in Milan, in the beautiful setting of the Terrazza at Copernico Isola, led by Prof. Francesco Sacco, Senior Partner at Corporate Hangar and member of the IPA Jury.
The awards were received by Itway President and CEO Andrea Farina, accompanied by Itway Vice President Cesare Valenti, ICOY Chief Technology Advisor Stefano Della Valle, and ICOY Artificial Intelligence Engineer Marco Nanni.
These recognitions strengthen the goals of the Itway Group: the market presence of the ICOY Cyber Safety solution and the improvement of working conditions in Italy by reducing accident risks and saving lives.
